Step-by-Step Guide: Grandstream GXP2615

The Grandstream GXP2615 is designed to deliver a powerful yet user-friendly experience for both small offices and larger business environments. Getting started is simple, and once you familiarize yourself with its core features, you’ll see why it’s a popular choice for VoIP communication.

1. Call Hold

Call Hold lets you pause a conversation without hanging up.

How to use it:

  1. While on a call, press the Pause softkey.

  2. The caller will hear hold music (if enabled).

  3. Press Resume to return to the call.

2. Call Transfer

Transferring calls on the Grandstream GXP2615 is simple, whether you use a BLF key or enter the extension number manually. There are two types of transfers:

Blind Transfer (no introduction)

  1. Press Transfer.

  2. Either press the BLF key for the person you’re sending the call to or dial their extension.

  3. Press Transfer and the call transfers immediately.

Attended Transfer (announce the caller first)

  1. Either press the BLF key or dial the extension of the person you want to reach.

  2. Wait for them to answer and speak with them.

  3. Press Transfer again to complete the handoff.

3. Call Forwarding

Forwarding lets you redirect calls automatically.

How to enable it:

  1. Press the Menu button.

  2. Navigate to Call FeaturesCall Forward.

  3. Choose one of the three options:

    • Forward Unconditional (all calls)

    • Forward Busy (only when you’re on another call)

    • Forward No Answer (when you don’t pick up)

  4. Enter the number or extension to forward to.

  5. Press Save.

When to use it:
When you're away from your desk, in a meeting, or want calls to ring a backup extension.

4. Do Not Disturb (DND)

DND prevents your phone from ringing, sending callers straight to voicemail or giving them a busy signal.

How to use it:

  1. Press the DND softkey on the home screen.

  2. A small icon will appear indicating DND is active.

  3. Press DND again to turn it off.

When to use it:
During meetings, presentations, or focus work.

5. Using Line Keys for Calls

The GXP2615 supports multiple line keys so you can manage several calls at once.

How to use them:

  • When another call comes in, press an available Line Key to answer without dropping your first call.

  • Switch between calls by pressing the corresponding line button.

  • You can hold one call while speaking on another.

When to use it:
For receptionists, support reps, or anyone who handles multiple conversations.
